Pantocid 40 mg tablets contains pantoprazole and is used in the treatment of acidity, heartburn and stomach ulcers.It is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) and works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
How to use
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pantocid 40 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Precautions
Taking alcohol can increase acidity and cause acid reflux in the food pipe causing heartburn. This would decrease the effect of this drug and can aggravate your underlying condition. Pantocid 40 mg tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy however it should be used with caution during lactation(breast feeding). Pantocid 40 mg tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney and liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended. Always consult your doctor before taking this medication.
